Dextrose is a simple sugar that is derived entirely from corn starch. It is about 20% less sweet than regular cane sugar, and is the main energy source in our body. Dextrose is found naturally in our body as this is a by-product of carbohydrates, proteins and fats that are digested. A similar carbohydrate to Maltodextrin, also a high GI carbohydrate meaning it will enter your system rapidly stimulating a fast insulin response which enables the transportation of muscle building nutrients to where they are needed.
